I'm Behind

So I'm totally behind in my weekend update!

Here goes...

Thursday:

My last night of school (well for this semester anyway). We had our group presentation this night and every group was presenting on a different subject: gypsies, Arab Americans, Hispanics and native Americans. Well, last week was the Gypsies presentation which I missed but I did here it was very good! So first the Arab American group went and they were phenomenal. They brought in baklava for everyone a Koran for all of us to see and other Arab American items. It was good and very in-depth. Unfortunately, we (Hispanics) had to follow this group and to be quite honest I was scared out of my mind. We had little rehearsals and I was nervous because I needed all 100 points to get an A in the class. Well, the first guy went and he did good, another guy...good...me....blah, didn't do so good since I knew I would just be reading a bit about Hispanic communications and I mainly worked on the PowerPoint....another girl good...and then it all came tumbling down. One lady in our group got up and started speaking about myths on Hispanics. Well, there were 2 Hispanic people in the class and they were kind of disputing her myths. For example, she said one myth is that Hispanics only want to hang around other Hispanics. The Hispanic girl raised her hand and said well no that is not true but sometimes we have a language barrier and the lady had the nerve to tell her she was wrong! Then she goes on to say, whether your speaking Spanish or Mexican it shouldn't matter. I seriously wanted to crawl in a hole I was so embarrassed. She went on for a good 20 minutes continuously making snafus like this one and calling the Scottish people Scotch, that's right, like the tape. DISASTER! So needless to say, we only got an 80/100 and I ended up with a B+. So that just ruined my all A record for my masters. Sad.

Friday:

Sadie and woke up bright and early at 6 a.m. and hung out at home, cleaned up, napped and then after got ready to go hang out at Partridge Creek. As I was getting ready I brought Sadie in the bathroom and let her play in my makeup. Here are the results.

So then my mom came over and we drove to the mall and went straight to the fountain.

Soon Steph and Devon showed up...(I was pretending to be paparazzi)

I went off for some retail therapy to pick up some bare minerals from Sephora. It really seems to be working well for me and is sheer enough to look natural and keeps me not shiny! I also got my free lip gloss birthday gift which was a nice bonus.
Bought some cute headbands at For Love 21 and some cute ponytail holders for Sadie at Claires, they are the nice soft ones since my mom and Steve complained that the plastic ones broke her hair but these she can pull out and I hate it when she does that but I am picking my battles.

Walked straight past Love Culture! DO NOT EVER SHOP AT THE LOVE CULTURE AT PARTRIDGE CREEK! This store is a scam and they do not accept refunds, their website does not work, there is no number to customer service, employees are rude and clothes are junk!
BUYER BEWARE!!

Then we all met up with Aunt Linda for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen! It was delicious! We of course had dessert and I would highly recommend the chocolate banana cake.
Linda dining.

I attempted to get a group shot but no one wanted to participate.

We ordered these 3 desserts, chocolate souffle a la mode.

Chocolate banana cake a la mode.

Apple crisp a la mode.

The winner in my book was the chocolate banana cake! It had the right amount of moist chocolate cake and fresh banana pudding with the chocolate gauche it was perfection!

Saturday:

Well it all started when I wanted to go to the gym before swimming lessons. Sadie was being fine and she now says "diddy and tinkyyyyy" which mean dirty and stinky and she points to her diaper genie and plugs her nose, so funny.
So we got all ready, gym clothes on, swimsuits packed. We went in the garage and I tried to put Sadie in her car seat and she started screaming. Not like screaming but SCREAMING she locked up her body and didn't want to move or go anywhere. So I put her in her room for a time out and it was painful listening to her cry but she was being extremely un-obedient for no reason. So after that little debacle it was too late for a pre swim work out. I called my mom and vented about toddler behavior issues and she calmed me down. Sadie and I went home ate a sandwich and then changed to our swimsuits for swimming lessons.

When we got to the gym the indoor pool was emptied since they were remodeling the tile so swimming was outside which for the first 15 or so minutes it was just freezing and painful to even get in the cold water! It warmed up for the last 15 minutes but Sadie cared more about playing with the toys then swimming.

So after that mom met us at the gym to go out for lunch. I attempted to pick up Steph but of course her associate didn't come in so she couldn't go. So we ended up going to Taco Bell which was good except for the fact I had to eat so fast because Sadie was once again melting down. I decided to forfeit going to the grocery store, which I typically do right after swimming, for a nap. Mom and I had a hard time getting Sadie back in the car to get home but luckily by the time I pulled in our driveway she was sleeping.

I checked my email and nodded off myself.

4 hours later we woke up! WOW, such a nice nap!

I got Sadie up, changed, fed and headed to the grocery store before Daddy got home. We ran around the store quickly with a well organized list so we were home just in time to make some shake n bake chicken, rice and cheesy broccoli.
Sunday:
My husband took me to Frankenmuth for an early birthday dinner at Zehnders. My mom came over to babysit and it was nice to just get out with Steve. We drove an hour to get there and only got in one fight which lasted about 15 minutes and we used some of the tools from the Love Dare book (kindness, patience and not saying anything negative).

I love this quaint little village and we have so many happy memories here. The best part is that the food is free on your birthday (well birthday month) and then on top of it you get a hot fudge ice cream sundae with whipped cream!

After we ate we went shopping a bit. One day Sadie was pulling stuff out of our A/V shelf where our cable box, Blu Ray, etc. are and I was getting annoyed because she was pulling out DVDs manuals, junk, blah. I was putting everything away and she handed me a card. I opened it and it was a Christmas card from Steves brother an inside was a $50 gift card for the Bavarian Inn (a Zehnders wanna be, lol). So we took the money to the toy shop at the Bavarian Inn and bought Sadie some toys for Christmas.

A Good Night Moon Game, hopefully she likes it and will be able to understand it by Christmas.
We also bought her a baby doll and some baby doll "magic" bottles.

After we left Frankenmuth we went over to Birch Run to see if there were any good deals for back-to-school time.
I found quite a bit of cute clothes at Gap and Baby Gap so that was a success.
As we were leaving for our drive home I asked Steve to stop at McDonalds and get me a Sweet Tea, literally the drive thru and inside line had to be the longest I have ever waited in a McDonalds. We should of just left but the opportunity to get a drink for $1 was too good to pass up.
When we got back to our side of town it was about 3 p.m. so Steve and I split up to finish the remaining errands we had. Steve went and got a hair cut and to get our lunch meat. I went to Costco to get diapers, wipes and Tide and I was shocked when the bill came to $100! Good gracious!

Last night we finished disk one of The Office season 3 and so far it is hilarious!

On a side note, I posted on my facebook what a huge fan I am of WDW Today podcast and have literally been listening forever and listened to every episode (even the old crappy ones) and guess what? The guys, and gal, from the show posted back to me! I was so excited! These people are like my Brad Pitts and Angelina Jolies. Well it was a nice surprise to have the comments and made my day. I'm sure if I ever met them in person I would freeze up like an idiot. Oh, how I wish they needed an HR rep! It would be just as good as working for the mouse himself althought I will be applying for the Disney Moms panel as soon as the applications open up in September 2009, so wish me luck on that!

The last interesting thing that happened was I finally broke down and bought this awesome product, Strap Perfect.

Ladies, you must own this! It works so well, I don't know what i ever did without it! There are only two small problems which are really not a big deal.

1. You have to loosen your straps when you put it on, or else if you are like me and have a little extra padding you will get back fat rolls.

2. I did find it difficult to put on myself.

Once it is on and comfortable it is great!
